September sunshine has given way to October showers and rain.   Time now to celebrate as you harvest the last of the fruit from your gardens.  And, as days grow shorter and darker, why not join one of our book groups and enjoy the company of neighbours and friends? Or you could test your bowling skill for some fun and laughter or take one of the many workshops or programs on offer throughout the week at the centre.  Check our calendar for options under 'activities' on our website for dates and times.

Following a successful September presentation offering suggestions for exercises to improve our balance, for this monthly meeting we will explore the many options for calling for help should we find ourselves in a difficult situation and unable to reach for the phone.

Exploring these options will cause your computer screen to light up with offers for call buttons and other devices, many of which, while useful in a limited radius around the house, do not offer help if you are away from home. And there are also costs associated with each system. Whether you are a hiker, kayaker, or travel by horseback or automobile, we will discuss how you can make a good decision to choose a device that suits your lifestyle.

And we will celebrate the harvest together. So watch this space for further information regarding our next meeting on October 29th.
